11:00 – 2:00 p.m. International Education Week: “Poetry Slam” Spoken Word Contest Coffee Hour. The UN International Day of Tolerance has been celebrated all over the world every year since 1966. It represents a respect and appreciation of the rich variety of our world's cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human, and recognizes the universal human rights and fundamental freedoms of others. For this event, International Student Services, along with UB’s English Department and the Office of Housing, Residential Life, and Community Standards, has invited UB students to share their original poems, short stories, or monologues based on the theme of international cooperation, tolerance, and understanding. Please join us to hear their outstanding works of personal expression! A panel of judges will select one outstanding submission to be presented at the International Talent and Fashion Show at the end of the week! John J.
