Chinese New Year  

Save the Date! The Career & Internship Expo will be held on Wednesday, February 17th from 12:00-3:00 P.M. in the Wheeler Rec Center.  Students can access a full list of registered companies on their UBjobnet accounts!  We ask that you please attend, learn about various available opportunities, as well as expand your professional network! Please dress in business formal attire and bring an up-to-date resume!

“ROUTINE TEST”
UB Emergency Notification System

On Wednesday, February 10, 2016 between the hours of 10:00 am and 11:00 am, a ROUTINE TEST will be conducted of the UB Emergency Notification System. The UB Emergency Notification System will only be used for emergency situations affecting the University of Bridgeport. The UB Emergency Notification System provides emergency information at no cost to students, faculty, staff and parents. Each student, staff or faculty member is able to register up to six phone numbers including cell phones and parent's numbers, and deliver the same message via e-mail.

Any student, staff or faculty member who is not registered can do so by following the below instructions.

  • Go to www.bridgeport.edu/webadvisor
  • Log into the Web Advisor.
  • After logging in you will need to select whether you are a “Student”, “Faculty”, or “Employee”.
  • After selecting the appropriate category, click on the "Emergency Notification Info" link.
  • Once you have clicked on the link this will allow you to verify and/or update your emergency notification information.

Have you earned between 45-60 credits at UB and have a minimum GPA of 3.5?  Could you use between $500-1000 for your studies at UB? If so, please consider applying for the “Love of Learning” scholarship offered by the UB Chapter of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.  Please email Dean of Students, Edina Oestreicher, at deanofstudents@bridgeport.edu for an application.

For students registered for the Spring 2016 semester: If you are a full-time student or a part-time student living on campus, you will be charged $970 for the UB health insurance. If you have comparable health insurance, you must formally waive out of the UB health insurance by Monday, February 15, to avoid paying the fee. For the waiver, use this link: https://consolidatedhealthplan.com/group/93/home.

For Priority Awarding of financial aid for the 2016-17 academic year, students must file their FAFSAs by February 15, 2015. Please visit www.fafsa.gov.

5:30 – 7:30p.m. “Parts is Parts: Assemblage & Collage” and “Remnants of Haiti” Opening Reception. “Parts is Parts: Assemblage & Collage.” The exhibition consists of artwork by artists whose studio practice is appropriated images and found objects. Lubomir Tomaszewski is a professor at UB who uses rocks and stones as a starting point for his sculptures. “Remnants of Haiti” features the art collection of Douglas Wade, a local Bridgeport businessman who has a fond interest of the Haitian culture. The collection consists of hand-painted metal mythological symbols as well as surrealist landscape and sequenced weavings. Arnold Bernhard Center, Schelfhaudt Gallery.
