Spring is a time of growth. With midterm exams around the corner, be sure to check with your student to see how classes and grades are progressing. It is a good time for students to make an appointment with their faculty members or to utilize the Academic Advising Center and the Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) for academic support.
Family Association
One of the best ways to stay informed is through our Family Association Facebook page. The site includes information, newsletters, sign-ups for the email newsletters, and other news that will help you stay abreast of what’s happening here on campus. In addition, we are looking for representatives for our Family Council. The UB Family Council is an advisory board of parents and family members, which provides essential leadership and philanthropic support to UB. UB to foster innovator and entrepreneurial success with a grant from CTNext
University-based innovation and entrepreneurship in Fairfield County is ready to take off thanks to CTNext’s grant of almost $120,000 to UB for 2018. In its application, UB proposed to create a consortium of private and public higher education institutions to develop an interdisciplinary and inter-institutional network and accelerate the growth of new business/technical ventures in southwest Connecticut. Purple Knights Strengthen Grip On Top Spot In ECC Men's Basketball Standings With A 74-65 Win At St. Thomas Aquinas
The UB men's basketball team strengthened its hold on first place in the regular season East Coast Conference standings with an impressive 74-65 road win over the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Saturday afternoon. Service to Students
The Family Association Recognition of Service to Students Award annually recognizes faculty and staff who have made a significant difference in students' lives. The Family Association solicits nominations by asking individuals to nominate a faculty or staff member. Nominations include a short explanation of why this person was nominated.
The awards provide positive feedback to campus faculty and staff about the work they do with students. The honors also encourage the goal of good student and faculty/staff relationships and provide recognition in an area often overlooked in the formal rewards system. Click here to submit a nomination.

Residence Life
Springtime has arrived! It is hard to believe that Spring Break is here when it seems like the semester just began! The Office of Housing, Residential Life and Community Standards looks forward to welcoming our students back from a relaxing and enjoying spring recess with family and friends. This April residential students, planning on living on campus for the fall term, will be able to select housing during the room selection process.
The $200 housing deposit is due by 4:30pm on Friday, March 23, 2018. Payments can be made directly to Student Financial Services in Wahlstrom Library or online at bridgeport.edu/admissions. Students who pay the deposit by the 23rd of March will be eligible to take place in room selection during the month of April. We look forward to providing your student with an enjoyable and beneficial living environment for the rest of the semester and hope they - and you – have a wonderful summer!
