2019 International Summer Scholars Program The University of Bridgeport International Summer Scholars program is a unique research abroad program designed for advanced and talented undergraduate students looking for an international research experience. The program introduces students to research and scholarship under the guidance of distinguished University of Bridgeport faculty research mentors in a variety of fields, including business, engineering, computer science, biology, psychology, and more. During a two-week period, students experience the research process as a creative intellectual activity in a cohort style immersive program. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity allows for students to transform into scholars while exploring New England and becoming familiar with American academic culture.
In addition to time in the classroom, the learning experience includes: • Guided trips to Boston and New York City • Presentations by industry experts and corporate university partners • An exploration of UB’s STEM Bus—the first of its kind in Connecticut • An academic and professional development series on graduate school admissions, career development, networking, and other topics of interest to future scholars
ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must meet the following criteria for program admission: • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at an academic institution outside of the United States • Standing as a freshman, sophomore, or junior at the time of participation in the program • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher Students will reside on campus for the two-week duration of the program.
