Make it a day ON, not a day off!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service is an event hosted around the country to celebrate the life and mission of the great Peacemaker. The University of Bridgeport's MLK Day of Service brings together hundreds of volunteers from the Bridgeport area to celebrate Dr. King's dream through serving our local community. All events are free and open to all members of the UB and greater Bridgeport community.

2016 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, January 18, 2016  will take place at the John Cox Student Center from 8:30am-1:30pm

MLK Day of Service projects include visiting elderly care facilities, painting, discussing current social justice issues, packing meal kits for local food banks and more! Lunch, volunteer t-shirt, and transportation to off campus projects (if applicable) will be provided. To register visit www.ubmlkday2016.eventbrite.com.

Free Martin Luther King, Jr. Film Screening

The day will conclude with a 1:30pm screening of "Free at Last," a documentary by Gregory Shuker, James Desmond, and Nicholas Proferes which chronicles Dr. King’s organization of the 1968 Poor People's Campaign.
